Pre-Roll audio only on iPad

I'm only getting audio from the pre-roll video ad on my ipad 2. No audio or video plays on my mobile phone... just jumps straight to content. I'm on Windows Phone 8.1. Works fine on my PC.

We are using the JW Player WordPress plugin with a JW Player Ads Edition Key.

Our site only plays audio for the content but we run video pre-rolls.

I did try a test with video content here: http://www.inthestudio.net/uncategorized/video-test/ and the preroll runs fine before that on iPad?

it does.. I just watched it run. the ads are scheduled through Google DFP and don't run every time. you may have to refresh a time or 3.

Ok, it must have been cookied. I see the ads fine now on both links? Do you think iOS has an issue with a video ad tag before audio content?

I see the ad fine on both links on my laptop.. on iPad i see the ad play before video content but not audio content. it is the same ad.

I'm guessing the iOS on iPad sees the tag since the audio plays. You can also see the ad play and mute button plus the "this ad will close in 30 seconds" message at the top of the player. I just don't understand why video disappears on iPad before audio content? is there something I need to add to the player code? our site primarily deals in audio content but we want to run video ads.

If you use the vast client, instead of googima, this will work with mp3, I just tested it.
