Triggering the Social Sharing Overlay with a button/link

Hello,

We are very interested in using the social sharing overlay, however the location for the button is already being used for something else in our video player (custom plugin). Couple of questions:
- Can we trigger the overlay with a link/button from outside of the player?
- If so, can we enable social sharing without the actual share button appearing on the viewer?

This can only be triggered from the dock.
