AAC streams works only in FireFox

Hi. Struggling for days with an Icecast KH AAC stream. It only plays in FireFox, but in no other browser. Identical problem with AAC+ streams. In other browsers JWplayer only shows a perpetual loader..... In FF it started working only after changing mount name to a .aac extension, but this did not help it work in other browsers.
Any ideas on how to diagnose this further?
