Source file better than encoded version

I submitted an mp4 file for testing on your site today. it was only 35kb in size.
When played through the JW player at the same dimensions as the source, the quality is worse than what we uploaded for testing.
The whites in the JW Player are more grey than white.
I would like to you send the file so you can see for yourself.
We have 7000 videos we are considering hosting with you, but not if this will be end result.

Can you advise please?
