JWPlayer 6.7 "Flash" mode not working on Firefox & iPad

I'm working on Firefox 20 and "flash"mode working fine if there are no more elements other than <div> tag for holding JWPlayer video in the HTML. But when I integrate this technique into my developing site, it doesn't show any errors on console.

I'd like to know if this is a setup error or media error. Could you kindly assist me in fixing this?
As the current site I'm working should be logged in first, I'd like to discuss this issue with you on skype.

Could you let me know your skype name?

Thanks,
Paul.

Hi Paul,

We are not able to provide support via Skype.

Flash videos do not play on mobile, but they should be working in Firefox, assuming the viewer has Flash installed on their computer. Please send us the link to your video so we can try to figure out why it’s not working in Firefox.

Kind regards,
Todd

The site I'm having issue is www.nicheprofitclassroom.com.

Could you provide me with your email so that I can send you login credential?

And I don't get any email notification for the answer. I'd appreciate if you could give me a notification to email.

Hi Todd,

I have the following issue for Firefox 20 or some other versions on Windows (I guess it should be older than v25) and current Firefox of Mac as well as iPad, iPhone.

Could you login with my credential and check the videos?

Username: pzheng
Password: Q3gm9)o61)k!4KP

Then go to this page https://www.nicheprofitclassroom.com/classroom/shortcut/1?m=Introduction

The player shows just a black screen and nothing works.

Thanks,
Paul.

FYI, currently the player is setup as 'html5" mode, not "flash" mode as in the title of this post.

Thanks.

@Paul

Your Flash configuration is pointing to a JW5.7 version of the player SWF whereas you are actually using JW6.7

Check your SWF path and ensure your configuration points to the 6.7 version.

Hi James,

Thanks for your help. It works fine on Chrome / Firefox / IE on PC. But it does not work on iPod 4 / iPad.

The page url and credentials are as follows:
1. First go to https://dev.nicheprofitclassroom.com/logins and login with the following credential.

Username: pzheng
Password: Q3gm9)o61)k!4KP

2. Then you will be redirected to Homepage. Then click any item starting with number, except Niche Profit Classroom, from "Training" on the top menu (the second menuitem)

3. After page is loaded, click play (white triangle in black background) button in the center of media player. Then you will notice the error.

I tried to capture console logs by enabling web console and connecting iPod to Safari on Mac.

Then when I click play button, it shows "Error loading media: File could not be played" accompanied by a warning mark (white-colored triangle) in the center of media player.

And the following screenshot is Web console output.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

I'd appreciate if you could send any notification email if this ticket is responded.

Thanks,
Paul.

FYI,

1. it works fine on all browsers on Mac as well.
2. It works fine on iPad as well if there is only JW Player on a clean html page. Just not working on my classroom pages above.

Thanks.

Hi Paul,

Try loading your video in an iframe. I have seen many instances with CSS- and theme-heavy CMS’s where iframes eliminate strange display issues such as what you are experiencing.

Hope this helps,
Todd

Hi Todd,

I purchased jwplayer v6.7 before. Can I get jwplayer 6.8 for free?

Thanks,
Paul.

Yes, just use the cloud-hosted player link in your account dashboard at https://account.jwplayer.com/#/home or download the latest files for self-hosting.

Hi Todd,

Can you have a look at this page?

To view this page, first you have to login at
https://dev.commissionjackpot.com/logins

Username: pzheng
Password: paul

Then, try to visit this URL separately
#1: https://dev.nicheprofitclassroom.com/videos/iframe/1
#2: https://dev.nicheprofitclassroom.com/videos/iframe/2
#3: https://dev.nicheprofitclassroom.com/videos/iframe/3

I'm using jwplayer 6.7 and primary are default mode (automatic mode).

- For Mac and PC, all of them play fine.
- As for mobile devices, 1 playes fine. But if you play #2 and #3 on iphone, ipod or ipad, it says "Error loading media: File could not be played" and the console error is as before (error code = 4)

I think the difference exist in video profile.
#1. NPS-Mod-1-Video-1-Welcome-To-NPS.mp4 (1280 x 720, 293 Kbps, 15 fps)
#2. NPC-Classroom Welcome.mp4 (1920 x 1080, 1496 Kbps, 29.97 fps)
#3. Creating-Content-Emails.mp4 (1600 x 900, 16:9, 429 Kbps, 30 fps)

Hope you could give me some help in fixing this issue.

Thank you,
Paul.
