'Paused' VPAID advert can't be un-paused/resumed without firing a clickthrough.

Hi,

We're trying to integrate with an ad supplier who's giving us a VPAID advert, and when clicking on the ad, it fires the click through fine, but pauses the advert, and the only way to get it to un-pause is to click on the advert again, which fires the click through again - therefore double counting the clickthrough.

However, the 'adClick' event in JWPlayer is only firing whenever the playback pauses, so the 'click to resume' is performing a clickthrough (i.e. popup window appears), but not firing the adClick event.

This behaviour is also witnessed when putting the VAST tag into the JWPlayer Test Page, so it doesn't seem like it's being caused by something I'm doing wrong, but I'm not sure.

Does anyone have any suggestions of avenues of investigation, or a way to 'resume' the ad playback via javascript without firing the clickthrough?

Thanks,

Henry

We should be fixing this with the release of JW 6.9. :)

Getting a similar issue - though clicking on the video doesn't seem to resume the ad at all - this could be a bit of a blocker - any word on when 6.9 comes out?
