own custom plugins from scratch

Dear Support,

For jw player 5.7 we developed a custom VAST/VPAID plugin with additional features, which are not Part of the current jw player ads version.
Is it still possible to have own custom plugins, which work with jw player 6.8?
Is there a plugin documentation?
