long load time for Cloudfront RTMP content

Good afternoon all,
I followed these directions here http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonCloudFront/latest/DeveloperGuide/TutorialStreamingJWPlayer.html and it takes at least 15 minutes for the video to load. I noticed that in all the examples here on the JW forum, that streamer is referenced as a parameter. Is this the missing piece in my code?
