Transcript

Hello,

Warm greetings, I am very happy with the integration of JW player, everything is quite normal.

I would like to ask you guys one question, is there any feature like transcript in jw player like caption and thumbnail, or I have to use any other plugin to have transcript of a video.

If there is a feature like that, can you please guide me in integrating the feature.

Sorry I didn't mention that I have already implemented closed captions and preview thumbnails, the only thing I need to know is about "Interactive Transcript".

Is there any method or property that is available for Interactive Transcript like we do for closed captions.

Hi,

Interactive transcript is a feature, where the user hears the words being spoken, the matching words in the transcript are underlined or highlighted. Interactive Transcripts allows users to interact with video in an entirely new way. Users can search the transcript of the video and navigate to an exact point by clicking on any word.

You can check YouTube Videos, near About, share, Add To links you will find Transcript if available for video, if you click and see that, you will get more clarity.

Hi,

Our player does not currently have this functionality, but I will suggest it to our engineers as a feature request. From what I can see on that link you provided, Google is doing voice recognition on the fly and it’s not 100% accurate. The nice thing about linking to your own captions file is that you can make sure it’s completely accurate.
