Problems playing mp4 video

Hello,
I have been trying to set up jwplayer on my wordpress blog, but I can't figure it out. I have lighttpd installed on my server and wanted to use it for streaming. On my computer (Chrome, WinXP) the video starts playing but then it seems it doesn't really stream, I can't scroll forward and back properly. On my friends computer (IE8 or 9, Win7) he gets this error:
"The video could not be loaded, either because the server ir network failed or because the format is not supported".
Could you please have a look at this?
Thanks!
Greg

You need to install a pseudo streaming module – http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/jw-player/jw-player-for-flash-v5/12534/video-delivery-http-pseudo-streaming

Also, have your hosting company enable the mp4 MIME-TYPE on your server. They might be able to install the http streaming module as well.

H.264 streaming module was already installed and my host just installed mp4 mime type. It still doesn't work properly.

I just went to your site and checked with Firebug.

I see this on the mp4 file:

Content-Type	text/plain

This means the MP4 MIME-TYPE was indeed not set up correctly. Chances are, the neither was the streaming module, then.

My host's support tried and fixed something and it seems to work fine in Chrome but I still can't forward the video (no streaming) to get to non-buffered part in other browsers (Firefox and IE).

This is because those browsers are using Flash, which need pseudo streaming to be able to seek ahead to un-buffered parts.

Does it mean that problem is still on my host's side? What could be wrong?

Have you host installed pseudo streaming for you – http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/jw-player/jw-player-for-flash-v5/12534/video-delivery-http-pseudo-streaming

Yes they have. That's what they say anyway.

Set the provider variable to http

See if that works.

If it does not work, you need to set the http.startparam variable to either starttime to apstart

As you suggested I tried it all here:
http://www.big-feet.net/wp91/october-1/ and I can skip through the video on Chrome and Firefox, some problems on IE but on my friend's computer he gets this:
The video playback was aborted due to a corruption problem or because the video used features your browser did not support: http://www.big-feet.net:8080/wp91/vids/...file name goes here
Could you please check how it looks on your side? I want every user to be able to watch the videos so I am worried about some incompatibilities here.

It works for me in both browsers.

Sounds good, how much delay do you get before the video starts playing at the beginning and when skipping?

A few seconds? Not much.
