HLS streaming with JW Player cloud hosting

Hi,

I just subscribed to JW Player premium and want to use the HLS streaming feature based on JW Player hosting.

After reading some support documents (like http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/jw-player/29394/hls-with-mp4-fallback), I don't know how to embed the player for HLS with JW cloud hosting. Unfortunately, all the provided example code listings are using a self hosted solution. Im sure that I misunderstand something?

Do I have to generate the m3u8 media files all by myself or is there an option in the publish wizard? If not, what is the best workflow for publishing lots of video files as HLS and mp4 (fallback)?

How can I use the JW cloud hosting with my self generated m3u8 files and how can I also provide an fallback? It would be nice to just use the JW cloud hosting without fiddling around with own solutions...

Yeah, our platform will do this. If you want to use your own generated ones, it will require some more manual work on your end.

Now I understand. I subscribed to the premium JW Player account by accident. I assumed that your old "Bits on the run" platform is the new JW Player premium and enterprise. Unfortunately very confusing, at least for me. Would it be possible to transform this account into a platform account?

What I really want is:
1. a cloud based video hosting and transcoding platform
2. HLS streaming that allows direct jumps to specific positions in a video (via the JS API)
3. the JW Player with access to the JavaScript API
4. analytics features

Do I need the platform for my requirements? If so, how can I transform my accidentally purchased JW Player premium account into a platform one?

What error do you get on that page?

Its an 504 - Gateway Timeout error. So the page doesnt load.

If I understand you right, #2 is only possible with an own streaming server plus the JW Player or it would be much easier just using the whole platform. That means, the JW Player premium package alone doesnt provide a HLS streaming solution.

Your team already cancelled and refunded the subscription for the JW Player premium package. Nevertheless, thanks.
