Support for 2x retina skins across desktop and mobile.

hi

in the release notes (http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/jw-player/28835/release-notes/) of jw 6.6 i found "Support for 2x retina skins across desktop and mobile".

is there any documentation how to implement/create jw retina skins?

They should be added by default.

Np

Nothing special needs to be done. Just use the latest player and a new skin.

possibly my question was not quite clear
i want to create an own customized skin, are there guidelines what size and what format player icons need to be (suitable for retina devices)

I would also be interested in an answer to this question (the documentation doesn't mention how to adress this issue):
Do you mean that for each icon we only have to put a second .png file with the suffix "@2x" in each folder and this 2x-icon will then be chosen automatically on retina devices (e. G. "nextButton.png" and "nextButton@2x.png")?

You do not need to make skin icons that have @2x in them for retina displays.

But if I do not add extra retina @2x images then the normal resolution images would just be scaled up and blurry. That's not retina ready. As we are all puzzled here: could you please give us an example what you mean?
Thanks a lot!

The default skin has images that should look okay on a retina device as of 6.8. If you have a license, you can email us for the source – http://www.jwplayer.com/contact-us/
