Player not downloading
Hi - I entered my email address and clicked the "get JW player", but I have not received the notification email. Is there anywhere I can go to download the file from?
Hi - I entered my email address and clicked the "get JW player", but I have not received the notification email. Is there anywhere I can go to download the file from?
Question – do you have a website?
yes
I have the same issue. Please help.
Ok. To get the player directly, it is here – https://account.jwplayer.com/static/download/jwplayer-6.8.zip
I've got the player now, and I have a movie frame on my sidebar. But when I try to play it, it jumps to the "Longtailvideo" website. How can I avoid this?
Tom, please give us a link to your site.
If you don't have a license for JW, the video will show the JW logo, and clicking it brings you to this site. To get rid of the logo, you have to pay up.
Hi - my site is www.benorourke.com
You've set up the player with no controls, but with no autostart, either. So, there's no way to start the video.
Second, since you're showing the video in such a small frame, avoiding clicking on the JW logo will be very difficult for most visitors.
Third, get rid of all of the old <embed> and <object> stuff. That's not valid for JW6 embedding, and you can't use both JW5 and JW6 on the same page:
bc.. <embed src="http://www.benorourke.com/wp-content/uploads/jwplayer.flash.swf"
align="left" width="190" height="144" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
flashvars="file=http://www.benorourke.com/video/2008_10010017.flv">
</object>
Fourth, convert your video from FLV to MP4. Then visitors won't need to have Flash installed to watch it. Use HandBrake with default settings plus check "Web optimized."

We have a migration guide from 5 to 6 here as well – http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/jw-player/28834/migrating-from-jw5-to-jw6
Hi - my site is www.benorourke.com
The JW Player is not here? I see Flowplayer.
