Non-Linear Overlay Ads that play on JW Player 6.6 won't play on JW Player 6.7

Hi,

When we were using the Ads Edition of JW Player 6.6.3896 all overlay ads provided by our ad network played perfectly.

But as soon as we switched to JW Player 6.7.4071 to benefit from the Skip Ad button we started seeing very few overlay ads.

We have isolated some example xmls that play or won't play on the new player for troubleshooting purposes. (All xmls play without a problem on JW Player 6.6)

Do you guys have a solution for this situation?

Here is an example non-linear overlay ad tag url that plays on 6.6 but NOT on 6.7

No Ethan I can't provide a link because since it is not working to our liking we did not deploy JW player 6.7 to our production servers.

We have another development branch deployed on our test servers currently.

We did all the troubleshooting on our local machines so I can't provide a link for those.

But I have already provided links to one working and one used to be working ad tag urls; just plug them in a JW 6.7 as VAST nonlinear overlay ads then plug them into a JW 6.6 and you can easily observe the difference...

Does this play on JW Player 6.7? Don't you guys at JWPlayer have a JWPlayer 6.7 build that has an ads license?

This is the page that hosts the JW Player 6.6 setup that we currently use in our production environment:

And this is the page that hosts the JW Player 6.7 setup that we were hoping to migrate to...

Please play both videos on 6.6 page to observe that both overlays show perfectly sized, placed and has close buttons etc...

Now please play the videos on 6.7 page to observe the differences.

Differences that we can observe:

1.) The overlay that shows on the top player (ad tag url: http://assets.nemo.woisio.com/assets/flash/test-vast-overlay-banner.xml) does not even show on the 6.7 version...

2.) The overlay that shows up on the bottom player (ad tag url: http://assets.nemo.woisio.com/assets/flash/test-vast-overlay-super.xml) does show on the 6.7 version BUT:

2.1) It does not obey the width and height limitations set within the vast tag and takes over the player window
2.2) It does not have the close button

Could you help us identify and solve these problems so we can migrate to the new JW Player... Due to lack of skip ad button on the JW Player 6.6 we can't show longer pre-rolls, therefore we are missing out on a large part of the ad agency's inventory hence losing money...

Hm, I get this error:

ArgumentError: Error #2180: It is illegal to move AVM1 content (AS1 or AS2) to a different part of the displayList when it has been loaded into AVM2 (AS3) content.

It looks like this ad tag has an issue, the demos on our site don’t exhibit this behavior.

JW Player 6.6 has no issue with the ad tags, google video inspector has no problem with the ad tags; only JW Player 6.7 has a problem with it and you believe the ad tag has a problem rather than thinking that you guys missed out on handling some cases when migrating from 6.6 to 6.7?
