Go Fullscreen When User Presses Play Button on iOS

Hi.

Is there a way to make the player full screen when user presses play? If this is possible, can it be made to function like this for Iphone/Ipad users only?

Thank you

Videos will automatically go fullscreen on smaller resolution phone displays. On iPads, the video will be displayed inline. This is how iOS handles video.

Unfortunately it doesn't on my devices. So is there a code/JS for that?

Hey Andrew,
Thanks for your feedback. But just to clarify these are the issues with iOS devices.

#1 On the iPhone 4(tested), the JW player does not render automatically to the full screen as you mentioned. Here is a jing screen shot of what it looks like:

#2 Also you are right, with an iPad 4 (tested) it does play video inline automatically. However, the actual video output on the inline player is only about 30 percent of the total area of the media player viewing window. So for the user it looks kind of strange.

However, when you go to full screen on the iPad4, it renders awesome.

So to solve these to problems I wanted to have the video playback jump to the full screen immediately for all mobile devices including androids.
The goal here is to obviously have it render on the website nice but also to appear fluid and flow nice for the user when they are on a mobile device. If you think I might be overlooking something or have further suggestions to help me solve this problem, it would be highly appreciated.
Thanks

Each of these problems(30% upper video and odd iphone size) seems to do with your CSS implementation. The iPhone 4 will play the video in full screen when it is played, however. I’d guess these issues may have to do with your wordpress theme.
