Hello, how do I get JWPlayer to work with a stream from Shoutcast? Tried some things I checked out on the internet; didn't work.
Can't find any documentation as well about streaming audio, instead of just showing a video with the JWPlayer. I know it's possible, but can't find the right way to do it. Someone that can help me out? Thanks in advance.

If shoutcast isn't going to be supported and IT WAS WORKING, what does longtail suggest for streaming live mp3 radio? Being able to use the player for streaming radio may be my only reason to upgrade.

which requires getting the shoutcast stream over to a wowza server, which is $50 a month. shoutcast doesn't stream in rtmp. rtmp also doesn't work in html5 from what I'm seeing. I tried using wowza friday, but very little success with using jwplayer 6.
RTMP works fine with JW6.

So we're back to the beginning. Stations streaming in Shoutcast need a player that isn't WinAmp. Shoutcast worked in version 5. What is the advantage of using JW6 if Shoutcast can't be used? Not everyone can use a Wowza server (I don't have the time to dedicate this week to make it work for the 50 streams I manage). Why does it seem that LongTail anti live streaming audio?

If you are using V5 and ShoutCast works fine for you, then great, you can stay on V5 then.
Why won't there be support for SHOUTcast? JW Player worked great for me in past projects and I was hoping to use it for a number of current projects.
We never officially supported it because it never worked consistently in Flash, memory leaks, not every file streamed properly, etc.
So this is the answer that I've been looking for? V6 doesn't work with shoutcast? is that right? looks like I have to stick with my commercial V5 and don't pay for the upgrade?

Sorry, in V5 it barely worked, and in V6, the situation is the same. We never officially supported it for V5 either.
