When I use the logo tag, the black shows through the logo, and discolors the logo.
I would like to change the black background to white or transparent. I followed a post that said to edit the fla file, I have Flash MX Professional 2004 and it doesn't recognise the FLA file.
Is there any way you could create another swf file with a transparent or white background?
I don't actually have much Flash experience even if I got the fla file open.
ok, it is actually quite straightforward to change the background color, but I still think it should be a variable you can change in the same way that you change the control bar display colors. After all, it is a very important color if you want to blend the flvplayer in nicely with the rest of your website - far more important than the control bar.
Instructions:
Open up the flvplayer flash document in the source directory (just click on it). Click on control, test movie to make sure everything is working (you may get an error message saying that it cannot find the playlist. I just copied the flvplayer flash document and the com directory to the main jw_flv_player directory (where the playlist is) and opened it there instead).
On the bottom right of the screen you will see the player clips directory, click on that. Scroll down and click on the blue icon next to displaybck.
Choose the color you want from the top right hand side of the screen, click on the color pallet, then click on the main display background, it should change color.
Click on control, test movie. Movie should recompile with new color.
Hi all, I would like to know if there is a way to open and edit the flvplayer.fla with Flash MX2004 ? Has someone already done it yet ? It appears that this version of Flash is to old to open the .fla project. Thanks !
@Cdric SUIRE - i dont think that is posssible, but please see this thread
@sotoodeh - please see this thread
@GDmac - better post your whish in the whishlist thread could you maybe use a preview picture and/or overlay picture instead?
I did try preview image but even then the background shows at the image edges. Setting the background with SWFobject's 6th parameter doesn't work either somehow.. SWFObject('mediaplayer.swf','mpl','480','146','7', '#FFFFFF');
As an example i try to get some air (padding) between the controller and the movie (this single movie shows a round-cornered border which doesn't look nice when it is very close to the controller). I tried setting the height to about 30 pixels more than the movieheight and the displayheight 20pixels than that less for the controller. (in this case no playlist needed). This works great, except there is no way to set the background behind the movieclip to white (or red or whatever).
This is fixed in version 3.12 (whoot! jeroen, thnx) there is a new variable screencolor so.addVariable('screencolor','0xCC0000');
and if you use SWFobject then it looks like the player also listens to the background-color setting. SWFObject('mediaplayer.swf','mpl','480','146','7', '#CC0000');
