I'm beginner in this field. Found a site that streams googlevideo.com video such as azdrama.sx and i would like to know how to find the original source URL.
The catched url is http://r5---sn-30a7dn7l.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?
But adding this to embed it says source not found.
He means that JW Player is coded so that it can use the YouTube API to display YouTube videos, but it is not coded to display googlevideo.com videos. In other words, you can't do it.
I have seen a few threads around and they also posted a googlevideo.com URL but that was dated back in 2008 which i assume by now the URL is invalid already.
This entire discussion is academic, anyway. Google Videos was shut down on August 20, 2012. The remaining Google Videos content was automatically moved to YouTube.
@earlyout: When video is uploaded to picasaweb or googleplus, the content is hosted in googlevideo.com . This has nothing to do with the original shutdown thing.
@Ethan: I don't understand why you kept saying you don't support it. By any means, the site i've given as example managed to do it. If i'm missing a certain 3rd party plugin, perhaps you can point me in the right direction? Thanks.
I said the site is azdrama.sx .. the URL is just a preview. Why wont you believe me and try uploading it to picasaweb and see if the video URL comes from googlevideo.com or not? And, If you must be so lazy as to not actually visited the site and find it, here: i'll copy & paste for you.
@Ethan, Well fine if you don't provide support for it, but you and I know it works. And i'm sure you know HOW it works, but are not telling me. I just don't get why jw don't support playing it. googlevideo is still around and it should be supported, there's no excuse to not support it officially.
@everyone else: I'm still keen on hearing what are your solution to support playing it. Please keep on topic, and no point telling it's not do-able, because that site already proved it works. Thanks.
Yeah, right, it's a huge secret that's being kept only from you.
I still haven't seen an example of JW Player being used to display videos from that source. Why can't you post a link that actually shows it working?
No one has ever asked for this before, and JW Player can't support every screwy video host out there. It can't display videos from Vimeo, Snotr, etc., etc. It needs a direct link to a properly-encoded video, or a link to YouTube. Those are the two choices.
If you're not gonna help, please refrain from commenting any further. I have posted all that needs to be to prove it. Not sure what you meant by screwy but calling google screwy seems legit? Thanks for the bump tho, in that case keep commenting.
That site is doing its own embedding of an old version of the JW flash file. It's not actually using JW Player embedding at all - they've just hijacked the old SWF file, and done their own embedding with it. I'm guessing you don't understand the difference (a pretty safe bet).
JW Player does not support that mode of embedding. It was possible, with some hacking, in JW5. With JW6, it is not.
