Intermittent media error, code 3

Hi,

We're working to integrate JW Player into a web app we are building and on occasion we've seen the API return a "Media Error", code 3. Are the media error codes documented anywhere -- I've searched and googled to no avail...

FYI, there are no user controls available - we are playing and pausing the stream. I don't yet have a solid pattern when this is happening (of course it never happens on *my* system) so I was hoping the error details might give me a clue.

Thanks for any help/pointers.

Do you have a link?

Sorry, no. It's embedded deep inside an app -- and it's very intermittent as noted. That's why I wanted to just know what the code meant so I could, perhaps, build a reliable test case of the code I can point to.

Thank you for the description of the error (although I'm not exactly sure what that means...) Anyways, I'm working on further isolating when it happens and then will try to provide a link for you to look at. So far we only see it on one laptop, which is making it very difficult for me to isolate the problem.

After a lot of trial and error we appear to have resolved the problem by supplying a webm encoding of the video. I had noted that a number of people have reported that MP4 files and Chrome don't always get along. We followed a case where GPU acceleration was also causing sporadic MP4 media errors, but that didn't help -- so we tried encoding the video as webm and now things are quite stable.

I'm sure this situation will change over time, but as of Chrome version 26.0.1410.64m that's our best analysis and solution.

Thanks for your help!
