Can't fastforward or rewind
I have download the new version of the FLV player. It is working great... but I am not able to fastforward or rewind... has anyone else run into this problem??

The JW FLV Media Player doesn't support fastforward or rewind.

But the video on the homepage to this website.... you have move the scrollbar at the bottom of the video and jump to certain spots in the video.
For some reason my video i don't have that option.

That's called scrubbing (or seeking if done programatically from JavaScript or whatever).
To scrub within the downloaded portion of the video file, your video file needs to have a metadata array. To scrub within the NOT downloaded portion of the video file, you need to have a streaming server.
Find (Google for it) and use one of these tools to post-process your video file. They create and inject the metadata array.

Once your video file has been post-processed, you will need to upload the video file to your server.

how about mp3 or wav files? Do I need to post-processing for metadata array as well? If yes, any good tool to suggest (preferably on linux).
I am using jw player to play mp3 files and need to seek using js. jw is a great player, btw.

You can't use WAV files in the JW FLV media Player because they aren't supported by the Adobe Flash Player.
To seek ahead of the download in large MP3 files, you have to use a true streaming server that is using the RTMP protocol, like FMS, Red5, or Wowza.

Whe i cant scroll some flv video (i am using "FLV Player" - http://flv-player.softonic.com/ -) i use this program to insert metadata: FLVMDI (http://www.buraks.com/flvmdi/) it works, maybe it takes some moments to make it work but when you learn so its simple ans fast to arrange flv videos that cant search thought it
