Hide "JwPlayer" Logo
Hello,
is ist possible to hide the "JwPlayer" Logo in left bottom corner?
If yes, how? I'm using the player with shadowbox.

yes possible, you must buy license :)
or add &icons=false, but plays, mute, everthing hide.

That logo would be okay if it would displayed only at the beginning.. but it you use e.g. pseudo-stream module and you seek your video a lot.. then this logo appears all the time when you seek..
Well, but if it can really hide on commercial version? ..then it does not disturb me because I'm going to buy licence one of these days.

the 'Why Buy a License?' section
you see, this is what i call shady business practices.
you offer a free download, with no check box to say i agree to any terms or conditions. then i come to find out after the fact, that i can only use the license under certain conditions. (as if any website today is not a CMS. please)
in case you don't see anything wrong with that, let me put it in this context:
if i had known up front that there were certain terms and conditions without which i could not use this license without paying, then its very reasonable I might have looked elsewhere for another solution.
Since there was no reasonable way for me to know this, I went ahead and downloaded the license and invested considerable time (about 2 hours) in integrating it into my site. Now I come to find out I can only use the player under certain terms. This is similar to a bait and switch.
I invested my time, which is money, which in a nutshell means that for me to now abandon this solution to go looking for another one has already cost me something It costs me two hours of my time which is worth real money.
Now, who is going to compensate me for that time I lost since I can not use your player now?
Will LongTailVideo compensate me at my hourly rate for two hours of my time? Want to know what my time (i.e. my hourly rate) is worth?
you should either a) be upfront and have a checkbox so people understand and agree to what the terms and conditions are BEFORE they invest time in your product. or b) have a 'donate' button most plugins do and not have this b.s. after the fact talk about "why buy a license"
be upfront, and people wont look for ways to get around you. be up front, and you wont waste peoples time = money. be up front and people will be happier to deal with you and you will make more money in the long run.
hmm. i may have to repurpose this comment as a blog post....

Just like the previous poster, i have been investing time...quite a lot by the way...oh and this stuff gets downloaded by 'millions' since it's added in certain add-ons for a popular open source CMS. that logo is buggin me quite a lot...but I'd rather not buy a license for something I only intent to use once...or maybe after this 'not allowed with a CMS' not at all...

Is it really like this, that you have to buy a license
only because you use a CMS for your homepage?
No matter, commercial corporate or not? I think (hope) the "commercial examples":

So only "CMS producer/developer" who wants to give away/offer/sell their CMS with integrated jwplayer have to buy a license. If
you only integrate the jwplayer in your existing not-commercial (CMS-)Homepage, you don`t have to buy a license, or? Am I right? Thanks and regards

It seems, that you didn`t understand the intention
of the last posts. The issue with
the logo is already solved (get rid of the logo --> buy a license), but the question of licensing in
case of simply using a CMS (see small license article)
was not solved... but now this question is
answered, too (or will be explained in this forum. See:

The documentation suggests that it's not about a site implemented with a CMS. Instead, if you're creating a CMS of your own to distribute and want to include the player as part of the bundle. Here's the quote from the buy a license page:
bc.. products (e.g. a CMS) that bundle LongTail products into its offering.
This seems like a reasonable condition to me.

You guys are all a bunch of whiny b*tches. It's a free player. Not every site is a CMS, only morons like you who don't know how to code use a CMS. Two hours of your time is worth about $12 in my opinion.

It seams like a lot of people on this page don't want to accept responsibility for their own actions and need everything spelled out for them. When using ANY piece of software, you should probably read the license agreement first, even if you aren't prompted to. Just like how you should wash your hands before leaving the bathroom, even if no one tells you to.
