22
so tell me. what's reason of not playing video ?
is your android flash ?
No, it is a Galaxy S3, no Flash. I don’t know why it is not working for you.
I have the same issue. But, it works if I tap the player to pause it and then tap again to play it. I was getting this behavior on my videos and figured it was my problem, but then I tested the video on the JW Player homepage(http://www.longtailvideo.com/jw-player/) and got the same thing.
Tested with:
Firefox 22.0
Firefox Nightly 25.0a1
JW Player 6.5.3609
Also, when using Firefox on an Android tablet, I get very weird behavior. It displays with the JW Player text and original skin instead of what I specified(yes, I have premium, and it works in other browsers) and when I click on play it reloads the page. Again, I get the same behavior on the JW Player homepage, so it can't be my code. Actually, I was surprised that it didn't use the browser controls like you do on phones.
Do you have a link?
I gave you the link to your home page where the problem occurs.
That is our site, but we cannot reproduce it here.
Nevertheless, the problem exists, and I'm not the only one reporting it. I had someone else test it with a different phone and version of Android and they reported that the video would not play either. If there is any information I can give you that can help, please let me know.
We can look into it. It is a bit difficult with Android because of all the different devices.
Thank you.
If there's anything I can do on my device to help, let me know.
Np.
Ok
This could be a clue about my problems on my Android tablet. When I try to simply use the video tag to play an MP4 video(any video, including the video from your site), it reports that the "video format or mime type is not supported". Apparently Mozilla is blocking this tablet's H264 playback. Could the weird behavior that I was experiencing be related to this? I do not get this error on my Android phone, that's still a separate issue.
That might be. We simply fall back to a <video> tag on these devices.
It probably needs to be handled more gracefully, it was very confusing to me and I'm sure it'll be even more so to my customers. The video tag is firing an error with code 4, but I'm not getting anything in either the onError or onSetupError callbacks in JW Player. It seems to me like JW Player is failing to initialize itself completely when this is happening, if that makes sense to you. I hope this helps.
Thanks
It also does not work with Firefox and Chromium on Linux.
It tries to display it with html5 but firefox does not include the h264 codec on linux => it fails.
FF only supports H264 in html5 <video> in Win7 right now.
any progress ?
With?
play in android ?
We support Android, see this demo – http://www.longtailvideo.com/jw-player/
I have galaxy tab with android 4.1.1 , when hit this page from ff
I click play icon, nothing happens
just postback page and yellow icon appear in address bar.
chrome plays fine.
We just updated the demo to 6.6, it should work in FF+Android better now.
