Upgrading to Business Plan

We have an older version of JWPlayer self-hosted on a legacy system. We don't want to change that system, but we need to upgrade to Business plan because of the usage of the player.
Reading the FAQ there is a section talking about a license key:
I've just upgraded my license. Why is my player not reflecting this change?
If you are self-hosting the player, you will need to manually make this change. After upgrading your license, the key found on your account page will be updated. As a result, you will need to manually update your self-hosted key on your website.

So, does it means that if I upgrade to Business plan my actual player will stop working?

I want to add to my question that we have received an email from overages@jwplayer.com:
Dear Customer,

Based on your 51,324 video plays in February 2018, you're exceeding your limit of 5000 video plays as a Free customer.

Please consider upgrading to Business for $50/month to prevent disruption of service. You will also receive new features such as Live Streaming and Real-time Analytics.

You can upgrade via our secure checkout here:

Sincerely,

JW Player

We are using the free version of the player since before 2014 and we never have had any issue with the limit requests, is there any need to upgrade the plan if we are using the free version self-hosted?

Hi,

My name is Timoor Kurdi and I’m a Support Engineer at JW Player.

Just to confirm, you updated the license key for the new version of the player on your website? Or you are planning on doing it but have not done it yet?

We did not change the license key and we don't want to. We are using the free version because we don't need the extra features of jwplayer. But we received this email concerning to the limit usage and we want to be sure that the service won't be disrupted. Even if we don't change the license key on our self-hosted player after we pay.

Did you update your player or just upgraded your plan? Do you have a link where I can see the issue?

I believe the key does need to get updated either way and you would just log into your account and find the key and its a copy paste job on your website with the new key and the assets. This would need to be done by you by logging into your JW Player account and navigate to Publish → Tools. You should see the license key in the Downloads section.

Hope that helps!
