Videos not playing in Chrome

Hi all,

Our videos are not playing in Chrome. Error messages vary between machines (either cannot load m3u8. Crossdomain access denied' or 'error loading media file could not be played'.

Sample here: https://publishing.rcseng.ac.uk/journal/video?doi=10.1308%2Fvideo.2016.1.1&videoTaxonomy=ULIMBVID

Any have any ideas?

Cheers,
Matt

Hi,

My name is Timoor Kurdi and I’m a Support Engineer at JW Player.

I see you are running JW Player version 7.2.4, we highly recommend updating to the latest version as most bugs are fixed as we progress and update the player.

The error loading media usually means “Your playlist was loaded and parsed correctly, but the player could not find any acceptable media sources in your feed.” Now I tested your link in our stream tester on chrome and the video played correctly which means something on your website is not allowing the file to be streamed by our player, possibly some code conflict. Here is the link to our stream tester – http://demo.jwplayer.com/developer-tools/http-stream-tester/?playerversion=7

The crossdomain is displayed when a player cannot access an HLS manifest due to a missing or misconfigured crossdomain.xml. See our article here for more information – https://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/articles/1403679-crossdomain-file-loading
