Fast Forward Button not working by Android and iOS

I am using JW8 and added a fast forward button to a controlbar.
Here is the sample apge.
https://codepen.io/tatiana604/pen/vpoBNy

The forward button works by PC but it does not work by Android and iOS.

Here is device information.

[Android]
model:Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900W8
version:6.0.1
browser:chrome

[iOS]
model:iPad MD788C/A
version:11.2.2
browser:safari

Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

By the way, the button on the controlbar does not work but a text, "click to forward" above the player works fine by smartphone.

Thank you,

Tatiana

Your codepen is working for me in iOS. I also tested a sample at http://qa.jwplayer.com/~todd/android-click.html and it is working for me in Android too.

I am going to escalate your codepen to our level two engineers to see if they can figure out why it is not working on Android. Or at least give us a code example with custom buttons on the left side of the controlbar.

Hello again, could you put the custom fast forward button on the left side of the control bar?
Thank you.

I am not an expert when it comes to CSS, but let me see if I can get a code example from someone in the office.

Does the code work any better for you when it is on a real page instead of a CodePen?

Hello I tested the page using Android and iPhone and here is the result.

[Android]
Using a small screen seems working but available area seems so tiny.
The clickable area is very close to the play/pause button.
I tried to hit the fast forward button, but most of times I hit the play/pause button instead.
I could hit the fast forward button once out of ten time attempts..
And when I use a full screen mode, the FF button does not work.

[iPhone]
I could use the fast forward button and the clickable area is good.
However clicking the button first time works and after second time the button never works..

Hopefully the result will help you to solve the issue.
Thank you.

You’re welcome. I will mark this support case as closed, but certainly contact us again if you have any other support questions or concerns.

Ian from our Level Two engineering team wrote the code example. I will let him know that it works like a charm.
