Stop JWPlayer from auto-loading videos

Hello,

I hope you can help me. In the last few months, auto-playing videos powered by JWPlayer have been added to virtually every page on space.com and livescience.com--which are virtually the only two websites I read aside from news. I have a limited mobile data plan (1GB per month) and these sites eat up my data very very quickly due to these auto-loading videos. Can someone please tell me how to stop JWPlayer from automatically downloading videos on my iPhone? (There are no settings for this in either the Safari or Chrome apps on the iPhone.)

Hi Dany,

I completely understand your problem. We offer our customers the option to enable autostart on their videos if they wish to do so. We however do not have the ability to change how they use our player.

My understanding is that in the most recent version of Safari they try to avoid players to start automatically. Have you tried updating your phone already?
