Un-intuitive auto-hide of controls if player is 400px or less

We're using the latest JWPlayer (7.12.6) and we've had numerous user complaints about the behavior when the player is 400 pixels or less.

The play/pause and rewind buttons are smack in the middle of the video view and upon playing it takes 2-3 seconds for the controls to disappear, a timeout that resets if the users move their mouse pointer which they tend to do out of frustration because the view is blocked.

Is there any way around this? It'd probably be great of the controls could hide immediately after pressing play, and have a quicker/configurable timeout. We can't seem to modify the timeout as it is now.

We don't want to use any weird hacks that could break with future updates or affect players that run in the non-compact mode, disable controls or force users to embed videos in a larger formats.

Please advice.

If your player is that small, wouldn’t they move their mouse outside of the player? That shouldn’t reset the control fade out timer. I will forward your feedback to our product team as they are hard at working on JW 8.
