@Alex Some additional clarification. So as many know, iTunes provides no analytics on podcast played by their player and we need to provide a link to an audio file (mp3/m4a) for the itunes player. So we are hoping to host our audio podcast files on JW Platform and capture analytics. So trusting that information can be pulled from files hosted on your platform. Regards Al
Because our player is what is responsible for sending analytics to our platform, we would not be able to gather analytics if you are not using the player. The only metric you would see increase when directly linking to media that we are hosting that is not being played through our player would be your streaming usage, because that is calculated on the CDN-level.
I should also point out that directly linking to content that we have transcoded and that we are hosting without the use of our player is against our Terms of Service, except for in some small exceptions (mainly OTT devices, such as Apple TV or Roku).
