Too much buffering in playback

I am an end-user. I have both Windows 10 & Android 7 devices and use the latest version of Firefox (Mozilla) browser. My ISP connection is approximately 1 MB down (not fast, but not "dial-up" either). In any case where a web-content provider uses JW Player, I get c-o-n-s-t-a-n-t buffering!
Are there settings or add-ons within Firefox, or within the Operating Systems, that will improve the playback of video from your product?
Thank you.

Our player is a tool for web developers to use on their websites. Our software is actually just a few Javascript files that are uploaded to web servers to enable web sites to play videos. There is nothing to install on your computer or browser.

The web developers choose which features they wish to implement on their players, and how their content is served to the player (progressive download vs adaptive streaming). Most developers chose the route of adaptive streaming.
