Checking in the latest version of Firefox 55, I am seeing that I can set the font colors/background colors for captions as expected. What machine/browser version are you seeing that behavior in?

Don't we have a solution for old browsers I mean at least recent old browsers?

We only test on the latest version of browsers, especially those what automatically update like Chrome and Firefox.
