analytics for audio files

Why is there no analytics for audio files? This is a must have for us.

Hi there,

As long as your audio files are registered on your Dashboard and the Media ID for the content is included in your player setup, as outlined on the support article linked below, the analytics should appear on your dashboard.

Can you provide me with a URL to a page where you have an audio file embedded that is not showing the analytics on your dashboard?

Thank you.

Alex,

URL to embed: https://www.foodabletv.com/the-barron-report

NOTE: We are on a SquareSpace (CMS) platform and will be using the built-in embed for external file source. Reason: Your player keeps playing when another player is being played. It won't stop playing until you stop it. A user could potentially be playing all audio at once. No bueno.

URL to secondary page with JWPlayer code showing how they continue to play if you hit the play buttons.

I've switched out the built-in embed for the JWPlayer embed and I'm getting the analytics but still an issue if someone hits all the play buttons.

Hi Paul,

Our player is what sends the analytics to our platform so if you are not using our player, we would not be able to report analytics. I am not too familiar with Squarespace so I do not know if you are able to add custom JavaScript to your page – but, if so, you should be able to make only one player play at once using JavaScript. Here is a demo of how you could potentially do it:

Please let me know if you need any more help or have any other questions.

Thank you!
