Using JWPlayerVRSDK.framework for iphone app to play 360 degree video

Hi Team,

I have an free account as whiz.bhavya@gmail.com.
I have downloaded JWPlayerVRSDK.framework from https://developer.jwplayer.com/ios-sdk/. I also have license key of ios sdk using my login. I want to use it to play 360 degree video on iphone natively in my app.

My questions are:
1. Can I use this sdk and license in my app and submit to app-store?
2. Is it paid? If yes, how much?
3. What is the validity If I use license key of free account?
3. Does it support all video formats like mp4 and m3u8?
4. Can I use the same sdk to play 360 degree video in iphone's webview?

Please guide.

Thanks,
Bhavya Bharti

Hi Bhavya,

All you need to get started is a JW Player account. Feature support, hosting & streaming volume vary based on license type.

“1. Can I use this sdk and license in my app and submit to app-store?”
Our SDK framework can not be submitted to the app store as is. You would have to make a few edits in your project first. Please see the getting started guide when you download the SDK.

“2. Is it paid? If yes, how much?”
I assume you mean how much does the iOS/ Android 360 SDK cost? Our native 360 SDK is a free product but you would be limited by your account usage limitation.

“3. What is the validity If I use license key of free account?”
Can you please clarify this question?

“3. Does it support all video formats like mp4 and m3u8?”
You would have to partner with a stream provider to transcode your video into a proper 360 video format.

“4. Can I use the same sdk to play 360 degree video in iphone’s webview?”
You would have to use our native SDK when working with our VR SDK. You can not implement our VR SDK with a web view outside of our native SDK.
