HLS streaming with Amazon S3


Hello,
I'm new to JW Player and I would need to clarify this concept.

I'm planning to use JW Player as player and host files on Amazon S3.
I would need probably to stream video using HLS protocol, so my idea was to use Elastic Transcoder on Amazon and prepare HLS file segments and manifest on S3 buckets.

What is not clear is if I can stream HLS using JW Player referring direclty S3 file or if I need to use a Cloufront distribution in addition.
