Count Views for all resolutions of a video format

I have still the problem as mentioned in this link:
https://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/questions/16303203-statistics-for-identical-video-but-in-different-resolutions

Is meanwhile a solution available? If not: it is possible to change the media ID without loading the whole page when a user changes the resolution of the player ? I would try this as workaround to count the views for all resolutions of a video. Thanks!

Hi there,

It is not currently possible to gather analytics for what resolution is playing in the player, but I do know we are in the process of expanding what we can show in our analytics. I am going to reach out to our Analytics team to see if this particular functionality is on the roadmap. As soon as I hear back, I will let you know.

In the meantime, a Media ID needs to be for one piece of content or else our Analytics platform will not perform as expected. I would not suggest using different Media IDs for different resolutions.

Thank you.

Hi there,

I have heard back from our Product Manager for Analytics who advised me that being able to track which quality is being played in the player is not something that is currently on our roadmap.

One possible workaround would be to use Google Analytics and then send events whenever the .on(‘visualQuality’) event in our player fires.

Thank you.
