Chapter Markers on Mobile

Hi there,

Does anybody know if it is possible to have chapter menus (markers) show up on with JW Player on a mobile device. I have tried to view the chapter/marker sample on this support area, but it would not show the markers when viewed on my iPhone. So I am not sure if markers work on mobile devices.

I used to use JW Player on our web site and at the time used chapter markers (VTT files), but we have not used it in some time. We are planning to build an iOS/Android app using Mobiloud and were thinking of using JW Player again - but chapter markers is something we would need.

Hi,

Chapters don’t work on mobile due to the fact that mobile devices do not have a mouse to hover over the chapter. Also, we do not support adding the Javascript player in a native application using frameworks such as Ionic, Phonegap etc.

If you’re trying to add chapter markers I’d suggest creating your own way of displaying and interacting with them.
