Error loading media: File could not be played

I get the error Error loading media: Flie could not be played when i try watching videos on putlocker. I run the latest chrome on a brand new laptop running windows 10. I still got this error when I tried switching over to the Opera browser, and Safari on my iphone. VPN's dont seem to work either. The only time a video from putlocker worked was on the puffin browser on my iphone with no VPN. The test videos on this website work, I just get this error on certain websites. Any help is deeply appreciated
Thanks, Robert Cascs

Hello,

Thank you for contacting the JW Player Support team. I’ve looked into your issue and this seems to be related to content either not being delivered to your player or the file format is not supported. Have you potentially tried contacting the web developer at the website? That might be your best option I am afraid.

Kindly,

Hi,
I noticed something very interesting while trying to resolve the issue. If I refresh the stream rapidly, it starts to work on the third or fourth try. If I wait a bit and try refreshing, the same error comes up again. Any ideas on why this may be?
Thanks, Robert Cascs

Hello,

This simply could be code not given time to load on the page or even network conditions not being favorable. Are you seeing the same behavior on the JW Player website: https://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/articles/1406723#fndtn-method-1 . If not, it may be best to contact that sites web admin.

Maybe this is related im not sure, but when I watch youtube videos, and pause for a bit, when I try playing it again this message comes up : An error occured. Please try again later. Hello,

Are you replicating the issues on a seperate computer or network? Perhaps trying a different browser? This may potentially be a local/PC problem.

Hi
I have tried to replicate the problem on a seperate network, and I still run into the same issue on my laptop, but I can watch videos on my iphone perfectly now. I can still watch videos if I refresh the stream enough times. My main browser is chrome, and I am experiencing all of these issues on it, but when I switch over to Firefox, all of the videos work perfectly. This only happens when I use my work network using the Firefox browser, not my internet at home. I also tried Opera, and I seem to be running into the error on it as well and it only works when I refresh the stream multiple times.

Hello Robert,

Do you have a basic example or link to the page with no external code?

Hi,
Yeah I have a link where the I get the error: http://yesmovies.to/movie/snowden-16474/491416-14/watching.html

Its worth pointing out that even non-jwplayer videos have issues similar to this, as in if you go to the openload server for the same video, I get the issue "the media playback was aborted due to a corruption problem or because the media used features your browser did not support.".
Server 1 and 3 are both using JW-player, server openload is using their own player.

Thanks, Robert

Hello Robert,

Perhaps running the stream through a validation project such as mediastreamvalidator from Apple may be a good start for this sort of problem as it is happening outside of the JW Player. Unfortunately in the event the stream does not work outside of our player or simply in say Safari, then it will not work properly in our player. You can locate the validator in the Apple Developers website here:

Hi,
I am running Windows 10, so would this mediastreamvalidator work? Also I used safari on my ios device, and I can play the videos perfectly without the error, which is a different result than a week ago where it didn't work. I seem to only get this error on my windows computer running chrome and opera, while firefox still works perfectly.
Thanks, Robert
