Audio out of Sync in Chrome (OS X)

We have been experiencing problems with audio sync in Chrome for mac for awhile now from the JW Platform. In Safari, playback is fine. The same file uploaded to YouTube also syncs audio correctly when played back in the same Chrome browser - Current Chrome OS X Version 54.0.2840.98 (64-bit) but it was happening in older versions as well. This behavior can be seen in JW preview pages such as this example: https://content.jwplatform.com/previews/KIMwNALA-iius9kYx but also when embedded on our website. It really just seems to be chrome. The is the JW version 7 Production release player (responsive player, no preload option / use html5 for playback option checked) . I keep getting complaints so I'm hoping there is something I can try on our encoding side or in our platform player settings to fix this.

Hi there,

I noticed that you also opened a case via email for this issue so I am going to take a look at it and respond via email.

Thank you.

Thanks Alex!
I spoke with Alex and switched our JW Platform player from the production version to the beta version ( 7.7.6 at the time of this post) for now and it did fix the audio sync in issue with HLS HTML5 playback in Chrome. So some this had to with the HLS provider which is different for the beta version of the platform player. It was also suggested that I upload .mp4 files instead of the .mov files (.h264 files in .mov container) that FCPX exports so I may tinker with that as well for the master files I upload in the future...
