JW Player has gone off the rails!

I am a very seasoned developer of >15 years and just because you can change something doesn't mean you should... and just because you changed something, doesn't mean it's better. I think before you "sold-out" to the man, you should have split your product. Left pre-7 just as it was and then started your zealous pursuit of greed.

One cannot even find older versions, you've removed them from your site, and coming across someone else's post complaining about the same thing, you posted a link to the "way-back-machine"... and that link no longer works.

I don't want to upload my videos to your server. I could have sensitive (DoD) training videos that I need to show via SSL & accessed controlled. When I am developing I want to work off-line. I freakin' hate what you have become.

SO my question is, will you ever reconsider and make jwplayer truly free again and stop this horsecrap you've gotten yourself into?

Hi there,

You don’t need to host your files on our platform. If you were hosting this demo page on a web-server in an air-gapped network you should have no problem running the player with your self-hosted content. Replace the http with https and you’ll see it working over SSL. I hope that clears up some confusion.
