Cannot load M3U8: No levels to play

Hi,

We have one user that has recently started receiving the following error when they try to play any video on our site: "Cannot load M3U8: No levels to play". They are running Windows XP, with Chrome.

No other users have reported such an error before. Is there any further explanation of what that message could mean, or any further test I can offer the user as to what could be causing it?

Thanks.

Hi there,

My name is Alex and I am one of the Team Leads of the Support Team at JW Player. I will be more than happy to assist you with your questions.

We do not technically support our player on Windows XP, but one thing you may want to ask the customer is if they are using any ad-blocking extensions in Chrome as that may cause that issue, especially if you have the player set to automatically begin playback.

Please let me know if you need any more help or have any other questions.

Thank you!

Hey Alex, I've this problem too, When I wanna watch heavy size videos or long videos on aparat[dot]com I'll face this error :

Cannot load M3U8: No levels to play.

"Such as some videos more than an hour like this : aparat.com/v/ZXSN9 "

Thanks.

Hi,

Just had a chat with engineering, this is what they’ve said:

“…This usually means that the parent manifest was loaded but there were issues loading the child manifests. Either because of relative path 301/2 redirects, crossdomain issues, 403 or 404 errors on the children. By checking the network tab you should be able to see what’s happening specifically…”
