JW 7.3.6 ok without internet but 7.5.0 needs internet

My old self-hosted JW player 7.3.6 works without an internet connection but JW 7.5.0 (downloaded 7/27/16) does not. Does JW plan to fix 7.5 so that videos will play without an internet connection?

I like to be able to test my site and play video on my own system without being connected to the internet. I also would like people accessing my website to be able to view video even if there is some problem at the JW website (forever). And I'd like to update.

Are you using the flash or html player?

I believe that both JW 7.3.6 and 7.5 are HTML players with flash fallback. I downloaded these from my JW player account page. I have the free account.

The player and video is self-hosted. I am using .mp4 video. I have very simple code on my webpage, just the player with preload as 'auto' and skin 'six'.

While testing at home, with the internet plugged in, both the JW 7.3.6 and new 7.5.0 versions work fine.

However, when I unplug the internet only the old JW 7.3.6 version works. The new 7.5.0 version displays the opening image i called for but instead of the triangular play button there is a small vertical rectangle with characters E6 over 0E. Nothing happens when I click on this rectangle.

Will JW fix the new 7.5 version so that it will play without the internet connected. Or is there some new code I need to add?

Hi Rob, this isn’t a supported use case. You need to be connected to the internet to use our player.
