Flash failure to initialize issue

Pulling this over from Twitter. Embedded videos not initializing on Chrome, Win7Professional and Chrome, ChromeOS. Happens consistently on Gawker Media family of sites and occasionally elsewhere.

Still frame of video loads. Two error messages appear on screen - "Failed to set up Flash" and "Error: An Invalid Exception was thrown."

Can you post links to players that are giving you issues? We’d like to determine if this is an overall issue with youtube embeds or something isolated to your machine.
