Dynamic RTMP set default quality?

Hello,
as I see it right now, quality changes with dynamic RTMP can be only made after the video starts playing.

It there a way to set a default quality somewhere so that the stream starts buffering with the desired quality? Maybe in the smil-file?

Our player detects the viewer’s bandwidth once when the stream first starts to load. When then use that bandwidth calculation to choose the appropriate stream from the SMIL. Please see https://support.jwplayer.com/customer/en/portal/articles/1430398-dynamic-rtmp-streaming for more details.

If you have the ability to stream with HLS, this provides a better viewer experience because with HLS streaming, we detect bandwidth each time a new fragment loads and change the quality if necessary.
