STREAM RTMP

Hello,

I m trying to display a live stream into my web site (client-serveur). my web site try to connect to the server that generate the stream.
I m using the version 6.12 of JWPlayer, html language, and javascript to embed the jwplayer. I also using the free version of JWPlayer.
I m getting an error of loading stream and could not connect to server.

So, I want to know what could cause this error?
1. is that the Adobe flash player who causes this problem?
2. is that a specific version of adobe that can match with the 6.12 version of JWPlayer?
3. is that a problem coming from the client or the server?
4. is that because I m using a free version of JWPlayer?

my code is typically the same as the JWPlayer's documentation!

Thanks for your help.

Hi there,

My name is Alex and I am one of the Support Engineers at JW Player. I will be more than happy to assist you with your questions.

1. is that the Adobe flash player who causes this problem?

RTMP streams require Flash Player to be played, but it is not Flash causing this issue. The issue is either because there is an issue on your streaming server and/or the URL is not formatted correctly. Either way, I would recommend contacting your streaming provider.

2. is that a specific version of adobe that can match with the 6.12 version of JWPlayer?

It’s always recommended to be running the most up-to-date version of Flash Player as each update contains bug fixes and security patches.

3. is that a problem coming from the client or the server?

The server. The client (our player) is just relaying the error to you.

4. is that because I m using a free version of JWPlayer?

RTMP playback is supported in the Free version of JW Player, so you should be good on that front.

As I said before, I would recommend contacting your streaming provider for further troubleshooting.

Thank you.
