Organizing resources for default playback

Hi,

I am using JW Player (Cloud) + JW platform. When I upload a video, I see 4 source files being created i.e. H.264 320px, H.264 640px, H.264 1080px and AAC audio.

The embed button then allows me to select player, content and java-script (including seo). The default source file selected is H.264 1080px, but on my website the default file that plays after hitting the play button is H.264 320px (this can also be verified from HD toggle button)??

The sources shows (visible after clicking on link button) an 1080 px mp4 file in the java-script code but player plays 320px as default.

How can I prevent this??

Hi, there.

My name is Alex and I am one of the Support Engineers at JW Player. I will be more than happy to assist you with your questions.

Can you elaborate on where on the dashboard you are seeing the ability to set your 1080p version as the default when generating an embed code?

When embedding content from your dashboard, we are automatically generating a HLS stream for you that will automatically adapt its quality based on the size of the player and also the connection speed of your viewer. The HLS stream, by default, will begin playback with the lowest resolution source. Then, whenever the first fragment of the stream is finished playing (usually around 10 seconds), the stream will automatically adapt to a higher quality, if its able to do so.

Please let me know if you need any more help or have any other questions.

Thank you!
