Black and White using Chrome 49


Having an issue with black and white screen errors with autoplay using JWPlayer in Chrome 49 on Windows. The issue isn't consistent and we are using the HTML5 version with no FLASH fallback. The video doesn't start and end with a hard white background.

Yes, we were able to replicate on a separate computer. Both were running Win 8.

One thing to note, once we upgraded our version of chrome the player worked as intended. However, we were not prompted by the player to upgrade. Is there something we need to do to make these alerts appear?

That’s odd – we weren’t aware of any issues with Chrome 49 and Windows. However, I’m glad its working for you now. As for our player notifying you to update your version of Chrome, the browser does not have an API to tell is if their is an update available for it, but usually Chrome is set to automatically update itself.
