mp4 on Chrome

Hello,

We embed mp4 videos on K2/Joomla and it works fine except on Chrome.

An example: https://www.winescholarguild.org/news/latest-news-4/the-history-of-italy-in-12-glasses-of-wine-with-paul-wagner.html

Would welcome any suggestions...

I opened the URL for the mp4 file in question and it appears that it needs to be re-encoded, how are you generating these mp4s?

Hello Donni,

These files are created with Adobe Connect and their tool to produce a recording of past live webinars. How come it would work on Firefox, I.E, etc... and not on Chrome? I have dozens of videos produced with the same tool and really hope to make these work without re-encoding them all. Any trick or fix?

Thank you,

Julien

I would advise you to adjust your encoding settings in Adobe Connect. This is an issue with Chrome, so you’d need to re-encode your videos – there are no tricks or fixes on the player end that could make it work.

Thank you. I ended up putting the videos through Handbrake and it kind of works... indeed, videos are now played on Chrome.

BUT... seeking forward to not work anymore on both Firefox and Safari. Any idea? Here is an example of an affected page:

Thank you all very much for your time and precious advice!

I’m not sure what you mean, I’m able to skip forward on the video on other browsers. Also, you may want to turn on stretching as the video is not filling up your player.
