I can get the ad to show in a playlist if the ads are set for IMA, and all works fine.
However, I want to be able to place a 'skip' button, so I've created an alternative setup using VAST. Now the ad doesn't even show up at all.
What am I doing wrong?

As per our Configuring Ad Skipping support article, configuring skipping is not available for IMA ads. If you would like to configure your IMA ads to be skippable, it would have to be done on your ad network’s side.
