Is it possible to play bumpers before and after a video file?

In essence I want to be able to automatically play a bumper before/after a video but I'd like to do it automatically not via displayed playlist.

We do not have built-in support for bumper videos. Normally I would advise to use a playlist for this, but since you asked for a solution that does not use a playlist, the only thing that comes to mind would be to make a basic VAST tag, host it on your web server, and the configured our player to play your bumpers as pre- and post-roll “ads”. The main downside for this is that you would need an Ads license of our player if you do not already have one.
