jwplayer freezing

We are experiencing problems with jwplayer freezing during playback on our live streaming site. If you pause and the restart the stream, it picks back up again, until it freezes again. Typically it freezes every couple of minutes or so. We are streaming to a wowza server from our own custom made encoder, and users can watch via website or mobile. We are seeing the freezing happen even when only a single viewer is watching, and when the stream originates from somewhere with very high network speeds. We suspect that there may be some occasional dropped packet issue with wowza, but have not been able to isolate it yet. Even with such a problem, we would expect/hope that jwplayer would be able to make it through an occasional hiccup and recover the stream (i.e., by the next keyframe, why wouldn't it be able to recover?). Do you have any obvious settings to change or other suggestions for how jwplayer can avoid this sort of freezing issue with a live stream?

Hi, there.

My name is Alex and I am one of the Support Engineers at JW Player. I will be more than happy to assist you with your questions.

While I cannot guarantee that we will be able to provide support for your issue if I find that the issue is not related to the browser, I will be more than happy to take a look at your issue if you provide me a link to a reproduction page.

Just to let you know, though, there is no built-in functionality to provide workarounds for flaws in the streams that are embedded in the player.

Thank you.
