Firefox videos require multiple clicks to play

Using Firefox (43 and 44 on Mac tested so far), if you just click to play a video, we get a spinning indicator but no playback. If you click again to pause, then click again to play, the video plays properly. This happens even on the JW sample at:

Anyone else experienced this? Any workarounds?

Hi, there.

This is a known issue caused by some updates inside of Firefox. We have resolved the issue in 7.3.0, which is currently in our staging release channel.

Please let me know if you need any more help or have any other questions.

Thank you!

This looks still not fixed in production – is that true?

The basic video embed (https://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/articles/1406723-basic-video-embed) still doesn't load in Firefox and my audio-only player (http://www.antenne.de/testseite) also doesn't play after the fist click.

I've enabled the staging release channel on my website but it's still not working.

Please help!

Hi,

I’m able to play the content on both of those links using Firefox 46.0.1 on my Mac running OS X 10.11.4. What version of Firefox are you using and on which operating system?

Thank you.

Hi Alex, thanks for getting back.
I was using Firefox 44.0.2 on Mac OS X 10.11.4 where it's not working on the first click.

However I can confirm that it's working with the latest Firefox 46.0.1.

I guess you won't fix that bug in the older version?

That issue was a bug within Firefox so there is nothing we can do on our end to resolve it in those older versions.
